What our clients say about us
It's all very well for us to talk about what we provide, but what do our clients say about us..........
The journey of securing aged care accommodation for her brother was something my mother had not expected to be taking and certainly not with a time frame of only 3 months. At age 80 it was overwhelming for her to consider and frankly we had no idea where to start and floundered for a while until we were able to get the right advice.
Fortunately for our family my neighbour’s daughter, Amanda Reid, is well versed in supporting older citizens with issues around Benefits and Aged Care in general, she is also a wealth of information. Amanda referred me to “epona” and I must admit we had absolutely no idea what services were available or what pathway to take to secure not only my Uncle’s placement but also his and my mother’s financial viability into the future.
Lisa Duggan met with my mother and myself, she liaised with Amanda in advance regarding the financials and she took us through a very thorough and considered process. She managed to elicit information from my Mother that was a surprise to even me and as a result we were better able to understand the implications into the future that resulted from the total, complicated picture.
This clarity was not something our family would have been able to achieve without Lisa’s assistance. Lisa’s advice about and assistance in how to realize assets to cover the bond for my Uncle’s placement and also advice on the financial implications for my mother with regard to shared assets was invaluable. She focussed on the best interests of my Mother and Uncle every step of the way.
We have no hesitation in recommending the services of “Epona” and specifically Lisa Duggan. Lisa managed to make what was shaping up to be an overwhelming task for my mother and our family, a manageable series of actions resulting in the best possible outcome at that time. As a family we value Lisa’s professionalism and expertise and will promote “Epona” whenever the opportunity presents itself.
I have had the pleasure of working with Lisa and Sue and the team at EPONA Financial Guidance over a number of years and in various capacities.
I,and my clients, have always found them efficient and compassionate to the needs of those entering residential aged care.
Their knowledge and willingness to achieve the best outcome for all concerned has enabled many clients to fully understand the implications of the financial decisions they need to make. This helps to make the transition into care easier as families understand fees and charges, how to structure payments to their best advantage and can be confident that they are not paying more than they need to.
My wife Barbara and I would sincerely like to thank Epona and in particular Lisa Duggan for her financial guidance and professionalism in the affairs of Barbara's mother, Lorna, who has recently turned 100 years old. Mum's in a really good place now and is really enjoying her lifestyle at Regis Lake Park in Blackburn.
Lisa was able to negotiate with Regis the best possible financial deal that would suit both Lorna and her entire family. We couldn't have done this without the help of the wonderful people at Epona.
Thank you Epona and of course you Lisa.
The advice and help from Lisa in sorting out my superannuation fund and pension plan prior to retirement age has left me well organised. The on-going support as my situation has changed has been invaluable, especially when organising a nursing home for my ex-husband.
Lisa and her staff take the time to understand one as a person, and therefore the financial planning they do is done to meet your particular needs and aims.
When money is tight, they have a much greater insight into how to stretch funds to meet those needs.
It has been and continues to be a most pleasant and satisfactory partnership.
I was put into contact with Lisa and the team at Epona almost 6 years ago, when I needed help placing my aunt into residential care. I knew practically nothing about aged care or how to go about getting someone into an aged care facility.
It was a huge relief when Epona came on board to help me and with their guidance, help and support, turning what was a difficult task into something that was manageable and as stress free as possible.
Epona guided me through the financial minefield, helping me through the sale of my aunt's assets right through to negotiating the bond that was required to get her into a residential care facility.
Their help didn't stop there, every 12 months we would sit down to evaluate how things were travelling, they dealt with all aspects of my aunts financial needs which included obtaining the aged pension for her and helping me to provide financial details and reports to such agencies as the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Even last week, I needed help obtaining some information that I required on my aunts behalf, one email was all it took to get the information sent to me, that's the sort of service you wish you could get everywhere!
I am extremely grateful to Lisa, Nicole and the team at Epona for all their help and advice, for their friendliness, professionalism and understanding through what was a difficult situation and would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody who needs financial help and advice.
I used the services of Epona Financial Guidance when my mother quickly became ill and needed medical support and eventually an aged care facility.
It was a stressful and upsetting time as my mother is still young and we weren’t expecting that the person who was always there for us to need our support so soon. I had little understanding of mental ill health, the systems in place to deal with it, of my responsibilities and limits of decision making of her finances and future.
Both Susan and Nicole were professional, responsive, thorough in explaining the best course of action but most of all treated the case as what it was to me, my mother’s future.
I have and will always recommend Epona simply because they deserve it.
As a result of a sudden decline in my mum's health we needed to make some key decisions about the best financial options available to support my mum's aged care. Epona (Lisa Duggan) was recommended to us by a family friend and I'm extremely grateful for the quality of advice, depth of knowledge and care provided by Lisa and the rest of the Epona team. The advice provided by Lisa enabled my family to make an informed decision at a very difficult time. Based on our experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending Epona and Lisa Duggan to anyone seeking financial advice, in particular related to aged care.
I am very grateful for how you helped us navigate the aged care minefield!
